Pig Farm Training Programs are year-round programs that generally involve the care and feeding of gestating sows, lactating sows, feeder pigs and finishing pigs. Pig Farm Training Programs may consist of operations that specialize in one growing phase of a pig, such as feeder pigs, or they may be farrow to finish operations.

This program can include:

• Breeding
• Farrowing
• Feeding
• Processing new litter
• Record keeping
• Sanitation
• Treating sick animals
• Ventilation
• Weaning

Some of the skills learned on this program include:

• Care and feeding of gestating sows, lactating sows, feeder pigs and finishing pigs
• Herd health management
• Herd management
• Hog transportation
• Marketing of livestock
• Ration balancing

Duration:  3 days

Starting time:  9am – 3pm

Cost: R4 500 per person (VAT include)
